Naoto Fukasawa
He graduated from Tama University of Fine Arts in 1980. Responsible for the Tokyo branch of the American company IDEO, he founded his own agency, Naoto Fukasawa Design, in 2003.
He has won more than fifty awards, including the American IDEA Gold Award, the German iF Gold Award, the English D&AD Gold Award, the Japanese Mainichi Design Prize and the Oribe Award.
He first taught at Musashino Art University, then returned in 2014 to Tama Fine Arts University as a professor of integrated design. He has signed or co-signed various books such as An Outline of Design (TOTO) or The Ecological Approach to Design (Tokyo Shoseki). He also co-directs 21 21 DESIGN SIGHT, the first design museum in Japan.
