David Shrigley

David Shrigley est un artiste britannique connu pour ses illustrations au trait simpliste voire enfantin. Ses dessins sont chargés de phrases humoristiques à la lucidité percutante sur notre monde. Après avoir été diplômé de la Glasgow School of Art en 1991, David Shrigley se lance dans de nombreux projets. Il crée l’animation de clips musicaux comme Good song de Blur notamment et illustre la couverture de la brochure du métro londonien. Depuis 2005, son cartoon hebdomadaire paraît dans The Guardian Weekend Magazine. Son succès explose en 2016 avec la Really Good Sculpture , l’immense sculpture représentant un pouce en l’air exposée à Trafalgar Square. Récemment, David Shrigley a reçu le statut d'Officier of the Order of the British Empire pour son apport à l’art contemporain.

David Shrigley is a British artist known for his illustrations with simplistic, even childish lines. His drawings are full of humorous phrases with striking lucidity about our world.
After graduating from the Glasgow School of Art in 1991, David Shrigley embarked on numerous projects. He creates the animation for music videos such as Good Song by Blur and illustrates the cover of the London Underground brochure. Since 2005, his weekly cartoon has appeared in The Guardian Weekend Magazine. Its success exploded in 2016 with the Really Good Sculpture , the immense sculpture representing a thumbs up exhibited in Trafalgar Square. Recently, David Shrigley was awarded the status of Officer of the Order of the British Empire for his contribution to contemporary art.
