À propos de Le Corbusier

Le Corbusier, whose real name is Charles-Édouard Jeanneret-Gris, was born in Switzerland in 1887. Architect, urban planner, decorator, painter, sculptor and author, he is one of the main representatives of the modern movement. He is known for having created five copies of a “conforming size housing unit”, a model of collective housing, which will be considered as a solution to the housing shortage which resulted from the Second World War.

At the end of the 1920s, Le Corbusier designed designer furniture, notably in collaboration with Charlotte Perriand. It was in 1928 that he designed his famous LC4 reclining chair.

After his death in 1965, he was considered one of the greatest architects of the 20th century.
