Stromboli Design
The founder and creative director of Stromboli Design is the French-born artist and designer Clémence Seilles.
She graduated from the prestigious Royal College of Art in London.
Since then, riding the influences of science fiction and her fascination with resources, she has worked in London, Berlin, Amsterdam, Paris and Mexico.
She is one of the founders of the study program "The Dirty Art Department" at the Sandberg Institut in Amsterdam.
Clémence Seilles has created objects, interiors and scenographies around the world with the most exciting artists and institutions. In 2016, she moved the studio to Mexico City and created a new type of design label, based on shared resources.
Stromboli Design was born in 2016 in Mexico: a design studio and online design store dedicated to contemporary craftsmanship, slow design and upcycling. The studio designs and produces unique, unexpected and imaginative objects and furniture.
The design is intended to be authentic, original and durable.
Stromboli takes its name from the Sicilian volcanic island, formed over time by strata of moving magma. The image of this volcanic land transformable into movement inspires his design practice and the search for new materials as well as his mission to integrate creations into a new circular economy.
As of 2021, Stromboli is now expanding to Milan, Italy, with a focus on recycled resource capabilities and focusing on building a network of collaborators in northern Italy.
