Tatiana Brodatch

Born and raised in Moscow, Tatiana Brodatch graduated from the Institute of Architecture and worked as an architect for 15 years, between Moscow and Milan, contributing to the creation of award-winning buildings, published in several magazines in the field.
Although still very passionate about her profession, but looking for a more direct and immediate way to express herself, from 2013 she embarked on an artistic journey.
Spontaneity finds its perfect ally in modeling clay, an adaptable material that does not stiffen, with which Tatiana creates faceless characters, bearers of universal feelings: the relationship with the Other, personal reflections, doubts and the typical hesitations of human nature are told, always with gentleness and sensuality by the artist through sculptures, photographs and videos.
Since 2015 Tatiana has lived and worked in her studio in Milan.

Tatiana Brodatch

Tatiana Brodatch est née à Moscou en 1977. Diplômée de l'Institut d'architecture de Moscou, elle vient en Italie pour une année d'échange, y reste, et exerce l'architecture pendant une quinzaine d'années entre Moscou et Milan, où elle vit et travaille toujours. En 2013, après la naissance de son deuxième enfant et dans un contexte de commandes plus rares, elle se met à modeler : d'abord des films en stop-motion, puis des sculptures en pâte à modeler, matériau qu'elle n'a plus quitté. Ses personnages n'ont pas de visage et sont presque toujours saisis à deux, dans des scènes d'intimité ; c'est ce travail que Seletti édite depuis l'exposition « Love Is A Verb », montrée à Milan puis à Paris en 2018 avec trente-cinq figurines disposées sur un lit et une projection en stop-motion.
