Gonzo
Self-taught influenced by comics and B series, Laszlo Gonzo lives and works in Paris.
As a kid, he already had fun making little collages. At the end of the 90s, his meeting with the street artist Hao was decisive, and made him want to draw in the street. He realizes that he has always loved this work and it is the stencil that suits him best. He then discovered the Catacombs, the Parisian squats of La Bourse, Rivoli and rue Charlot, and was particularly interested in "Do It Yourself", stemming from the punk movement; “you can’t buy art, so you make it yourself.” His favorite figures come from an alternative dark pop culture, with for example, Frankenstein the monster by Mary Shelley, Wednesday the girl from the television series “The Addams Family”, Robby the robot, from the science fiction film “Planet Forbidden.” Or even Fu Manchu, Dr Doom or Boris Karloff. The list is long and not exhaustive. In the near future, Laszlo Gonzo plans to extend his work with large formats and in particular the exploration of 3D.
