Zeppelin Suspension - Flos: Audacity and Harmony in Design

The Zeppelin pendant light, a bold creation by designer Marcel Wanders for Flos, is a piece that defies convention. With an imposing diameter of 110 cm, this pendant light is distinguished by its structure wrapped in an almost "organic" material. She dares to combine a semi-transparent “cocoon” resin diffuser, sprayed on a steel chandelier-candlestick with multiple branches.

A faceted crystal sphere is cleverly integrated into the center of the bottom of the lamp, adding a shimmering effect. This fusion of the “cocoon” lampshade, with its modern and quixotic character, with the classic chandelier creates a surprising and delicate harmony. When the light is turned off, the lampshade reveals a modern and mysterious appearance, but once turned on, the chandelier shines transparently, providing a remarkable visual spectacle.

Born on July 2, 1963 in the village of Boxtel in the Netherlands, Marcel Wanders studied at the Design Academy Eindhoven, from which he was expelled, then at the Arnhem University of the Arts from which he graduated cum laude (with the congratulations) in 1988.
Between 1990 and 1992, he did his professional apprenticeship at the design studio Landmark Design & Consultancy, one of the largest in the Netherlands.
