Blue Diva wall light by Ezio Didone - Arteluce - Vintage

A Diva wall light, postmodern Italy circa 1980, made up of 2 frosted glass plates: blue and white in the shape of a fan.
Thanks to this lamp, Ezio Didone obtained the diploma of merit from the Institute of Business Designers Design Award in 1987.

With a simple and very fine design, this wall lamp diffuses a soft and refined light.

Ezio Didone, born in 1939 in Milan, Italy, was a creative visual artist. He is of the same generation as Manuel Alves, Yves Bosquet, Mietje Boonen and Gérard Fromanger, also born in 1939. He obtained a thesis in industrial design and architecture at the Polytechnic School of Milan in 1967.

In 1970 he opened his own studio in Milan, specializing in industrial design, graphic design and architecture. It designs and manufactures lamps, furnishings, household items, cutlery, upholstered furniture, chairs, tables, furniture, fabrics, technical lamps and technical equipment for hospitals, for businesses the most important in the sector.

Arteluce was a specialist lighting and interior design company, founded by aeronautical engineer and modern lighting pioneer Gino Sarfatti in Milan, Italy.
Arteluce became known in the 1950s as a national and international reference point for the modern architecture movement in lighting. Commissioned designers included Franco Albini and Marco Zanuso.
Arteluce attracted attention by participating in a large number of exhibitions in Italy and abroad, winning an honorary diploma at the 1951 Milan Triennale and the Compasso d'Oro awards in 1954 and 1955.
In 1974, the company became a division of Flos group, employing designers like Matteo Thun, Ezio Didoni, Perry A. King and Marc Sadler.
A number of Arteluce pieces are in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
