The Rope Trick Floor Lamp was selected for inclusion in MoMA's permanent collection thanks to its progressive, high-quality design.

its innovative design integrates LED technology into a new dynamic. This lamp is made from a series of modern materials. The internal skeleton is made of plastic, the lamp arm is made of woven PET. The base is molded in ABS. The LED module is made of aluminum in order to dissipate heat.

The shade can slide along the neck of the fixture, allowing you to direct the light. It is also possible to vary the light intensity using a dimmer.

Stefan Diez is a German industrial designer based in Munich, where he founded his own design studio in 2003.

He graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Stuttgart. His approach to design is very anchored in the workshop. Here he can experiment with new materials. His approach to design is always forward-looking. In his mind, design must be used to create quality products that last for future generations.

He has won numerous awards for his achievements including the iF Gold Award and the Red Dot best of design award.

For Hay he designed the New Order shelving system, the New Order table and Rope Trick.

The HAY brand was founded in 2002 in Denmark by the couple Rolf & Mette Hay.
Inspired by art, architecture and fashion, the Hay couple wanted to produce designer furniture accessible to as many people as possible, reflecting the innovative grandeur of Danish design from the 1950s and 1960s.
Hay places design at the center of the home and office with simple, functional and aesthetic products, in collaboration with contemporary artists and designers.
Since 2018, HAY has been expanding and developing across the Atlantic by partnering with the American furniture company Herman Miller, whose historical heritage in design is no longer in doubt.
