The Woods Gallery is teaming up with Summer 1981 for the exclusive release of a line of papers with hedonistic and lush designs.
Very easy to install, available in a width of 2.50 m high x 50 cm wide
How to put it?
1/ Prepare the glue and the strips
Mix the glue in the bucket: it is essential to let it rest, or even prepare it the day before.
Choose a Standard wallpaper paste.
During gluing and installation, keep a bucket of clear water and a sponge close at hand to remove traces of glue, clean the upholstery wheel or wash your hands.
2/ Then measure the height of the wall to be able to cut the strip to the right dimensions.
If you order a strip: you will be sent a strip measuring 2.50m high x 50cm wide.
If you order several strips: they will be sent to you in a single roll.
Cut the length with scissors.
It can also be cut with a cutter and a ruler.
It is better to cut the lengths as you go rather than all together to avoid mistakes.
To find your way easily, take measurements with your tape measure and write down directions in pencil on the wall. Delphine Cauly's wallpapers have been specially designed so that the patterns are easy to align.
3/ Glue
Place the strips on a table, patterns underneath.
To prepare the glue, follow the manufacturer's instructions to obtain the right consistency. Let the glue sit for about 10 minutes before using it.
Using a brush, glue a good half of the strip, from the center to the edges. Emphasize the edges. Fold the glued part back on itself without crushing the fold formed.
Then do the same for the other half of the strip, from the center to the edges.
Leave the fabric to soak for 5 to 10 minutes.
4/ Lay the strips
Place the first strip at the top of the wall, aligning it with the vertical mark.
Allow the wallpaper to extend about 2.5 cm onto the ceiling.
Then unfold the strip to the plinth at the bottom.
Check the correct positioning of the strip, adjust if necessary then smooth down.
5/ Cut the edges
Use a wide spatula and a cutter to cut the excess wallpaper at the top and bottom
Position the smoothing spatula perpendicular to the paper and cut with a cutter. Then blot off the excess glue.
6/ Lay the other strips
Repeat the operation, making sure to align the patterns correctly.
Good to know:
Prepare the wall before wallpapering:
- Remove the old wall covering to install wallpaper: you must start by peeling it off.
If it is paint, you can hang the wallpaper directly, after washing and sanding your wall.
-Wallpaper installation requires smooth and, above all, clean walls.
Wash the walls to remove all traces of glue and other wallpaper remnants.
Painted walls: wash with special wall detergent then rinse.
On glossy and satin paint, sand with sandpaper so that the glue can hold.
New or porous walls: apply a plaster undercoat or pre-gluer 24 hours in advance. This protects the wall and allows the wallpaper to be peeled off without damaging the wall.
-Fix holes and cracks before hanging wallpaper
Once the walls are clean and dry, fill all holes and other cracks with a special filler.
After drying, simply sand the walls to smooth the surface. Don't forget to dust everything.
-Remove sockets and switches before hanging wallpaper
After having cut off the electricity, dismantle the socket covers and other switches located on the part of the wall to be wallpapered.
