Martin Parr, born in 1952, is a renowned documentary photographer and an influential figure in the world of photographic art. A member of the Magnum agency since 1994 and its chairman from 2013 to 2017, Parr also founded the Martin Parr Foundation in Bristol in 2017, dedicated to promoting British documentary photography. His work, which includes more than one hundred published books, is present in several important museum collections and was the subject of a retrospective at the National Portrait Gallery in London in 2019.
