The 1042 is a complete 2-column configuration: it stands on its own, without anything else. Height 209 cm, width 162 cm, depth 31.5 cm. It can then be combined with other configurations in the series, or with an additional module if the room allows.

How the system is made

The Pier System is based on two parts: anodized aluminum uprights and powder-coated steel shelves that attach to them. HAY claims the minimum number of components necessary for a complete storage system: this is what makes the whole thing lightweight, flat-packable, and demountable. The elements can be moved in height, and the configurations can be combined with each other.

Three steel colors, white, black, blue, and two upright finishes: natural anodized aluminum, or black anodized. You can match or contrast: a white steel on black uprights costs no more than a white on natural.

This configuration includes a wire shelf, which can be chosen in black powder-coated steel or chrome-plated steel. Chrome is a paid option: it is the second menu on this page.

Completing or modifying this configuration

All Pier System parts can be ordered separately and mounted on the same uprights: shelf, wire shelf, clothes rail shelf, worktop, coat rack, cabinet, upright, wall bracket, and mounting kit.
