Love In Bloom heart vase by Marcantonio

Love In Bloom is an anatomical heart transformed into a vase: the ventricles serve as a reservoir, and the severed arteries become the necks into which stems are inserted. The mold reproduces the contours of the organ—protruding veins, a rounded wall—and the flower takes the place of blood. Marcantonio has produced the piece in white porcelain, gold porcelain, and glass, and subsequently expanded it to other home objects, including a box and a wall lamp. The size remains that of an adult heart, about twenty centimeters high: it is a table or shelf vase, for two or three stems, not for a bouquet. As the necks are narrow and of different heights, the flowers stand on their own and the arrangement is created stem by stem.
