Two seat heights: 65 cm for a kitchen worktop around 90 cm, and 75 cm for a high counter around 105 cm; this corresponds to an overall height of 87 cm and 97 cm, with a footprint of 45 x 49.5 cm. The upholstery only covers the seat surface; the backrest remains bare wood.
Eight wood and fabric combinations, selected by HAY: the fabric comes with a specific wood color. Each is available in both heights and with standard gliders or felt gliders. The footrest is included in all cases.
What made the Rey chair a success is not immediately visible: the legs are not screwed into the seat but are held by cast aluminum brackets that form the connection. The wood is therefore not threaded, which explains the longevity of this model in public spaces: a loose leg does not tear the material and can be put back in place. HAY has preserved this principle in reviving the edition with Dietiker.

Menuisier né à Brugg en 1935, le Suisse Bruno Rey dessine en 1971 pour Dietiker la chaise modèle 3300, assemblée sans vis grâce à des pièces d'aluminium moulé. La boutique propose la collection Rey rééditée par HAY avec Dietiker : chaise, tabouret, tabouret de bar, table ronde et table basse.

Hay
HAY est un éditeur de design danois fondé à Copenhague en 2002 par Rolf et Mette Hay. Les deux fondateurs en assurent toujours la direction artistique, Rolf pour le mobilier, Mette pour les accessoires. La maison travaille avec des designers contemporains comme Ronan et Erwan Bouroullec, auteurs de la collection d'extérieur Palissade, Stefan Diez, Hee Welling, créateur de la série About A Chair, ou Louise Campbell, dont la Prince Chair de 2002 est entrée au MoMA. Depuis 2019, l'américain Herman Miller, aujourd'hui MillerKnoll, en est l'actionnaire majoritaire.
