Original vintage model, Herman Miller edition, 1960s.
In very good condition.

The Action Office was the world's first open-plan office system and is the result of over three years of research by the Herman Miller Research Corporation under the direction of Robert Propst.

The Action Office, whose design originated from George Nelson's office, received the Alcoa Industrial Design Award in 1965.

George Nelson “Action Office” model desk, Herman Miller edition, with one pedestal and three front drawers. The base is cast aluminum; the top is elm and laminate. The pedestal, attached to the guest side of the desk, is accessible via a black vinyl-covered flap, revealing brackets for hanging folders. Flap struts are worn; scattered veneer chips. Herman Miller and Mobilier International labels inside the pedestal.

Le designer

George Nelson
