Resist Sister hot water bottle by Nico Vascellari

Codalunga x Seletti takes up the anagrams of Nico Vascellari: a word and its reversal, mounted one above the other, to be read simultaneously. Dream becomes Merda, Resist becomes Sister. The principle comes from the neon signs the artist produced as unique pieces; Seletti has adapted it for mass production and applied it to various mediums: the wall-mounted LED sign, the round MDF-framed mirror, and the rubber hot water bottle. The word remains the same from one object to the next: it is the medium that changes, and with it the usage, from the wall to the sofa. The signs measure 52 × 38 cm and come with their transformer: these are wall pieces that require a nearby outlet and an unobstructed wall, not accent lights. Where the design comes from

Codalunga is the name of the workshop opened in 2003 by Nico Vascellari in Vittorio Veneto, in the Veneto region: the public-facing part of his studio, where exhibitions and performances are held. Dream/Merda was launched in 2018 and circulated widely before being published by Seletti, alongside Resist/Sister and Santa/Satan. The originals were glass neon signs produced in very small numbers; the Seletti edition converts them into LEDs and mass-produced items.
