Lire la suiteDiscobolux takes its cue from the Discobolus, the discus thrower of Greek sculpture, and freezes it in the moment before the throw. Seletti replaces the discus with a light source, describing it as a "marriage between history and contemporaneity": the posture remains that of the original, but the object in the hand changes everything. The body is made of molded resin, a material that allows for the reproduction of a statue's form without the weight or fragility of stone. The lamp measures 34 × 19 cm at the base and stands 51 cm tall; it fits on a console or coffee table, but needs to be viewed from the front, as the torsion of the body only makes sense from that angle. The manufacturer specifies a dimmable LED light source, though they do not provide details on the base, wattage, or color temperature. Cleaning should be done with a soft cloth.

La maison
Seletti
