The round "Tulip" dining table created by Eero Saarinen in collaboration with Knoll seats four people. With its round, convivial shape and meticulously studied design, it is resolutely modern and stylish. Eero Saarinen designed this table promising cleanliness, comfort, and aesthetics: he vowed to address the "ugly, confusing, unrestful world" he observed beneath chairs and tables—the so-called "slum of legs." After five years of design research, he created the revolutionary Pedestal collection, launched in 1958, so that there would no longer be dust under table and chair legs.
The tabletop is white marble with grey veining. A satin protective coating ensures the tabletop's durability while maintaining a natural look.
