The lounge chair adopts the vocabulary of the Pavilion but lowers the seat to 38 cm and envelops the back: the molded veneer shell wraps around to form armrests. It fits within a 69 cm width, making it suitable for lobbies or waiting rooms without being obtrusive. Three versions can be chosen here: plain shell, upholstered seat, or upholstered seat and backrest. The specific color of the upholstery is selected on our Fabrics and Materials page and confirmed before production begins.
Furniture designed for a specific space
Pavilion was not born from an abstract brief. &Tradition asked Anderssen & Voll to refurnish the Langelinie Pavilion in Copenhagen, a 1958 building by Eva and Niels Koppel that hosts banquets and seminars. Hence the constraints that shaped the series: stackable, lightweight to move, robust enough for intensive commercial use, and discreet enough not to compete with the architecture. The result consists of two materials, bent steel tubing and press-molded veneer, assembled with visible fittings.
Three levels of upholstery, one single page
The references are distinguished solely by the upholstery: AV5 plain shell (lacquered veneer seat and backrest), AV6 upholstered seat and wooden backrest, AV11 upholstered seat and backrest. Fully upholstered versions are not available in leather. Plastic glides are fitted as standard; felt glides and brass fittings are available upon request at no extra charge.
