À propos de Giampiero Romano
Giampiero Romanò — this is the spelling he uses himself — was born in Milan in 1973. He did not attend design school: he learned on the job, by restoring antique furniture and objects for some twenty years in his workshop in the Porta Venezia district. This is where his way of working comes from, which he summarizes as "looking at old things with new eyes": his pieces borrow from the vocabulary of flea markets and period mirrors, then shift it. He has worked with Maurizio Cattelan and Pierpaolo Ferrari for Toiletpaper magazine, exhibited at the Plan X Art Gallery, and created for Seletti a series of mirrors grouped under the collection name Antichità 3000 — Vanity, Selfie, Love Banana, Tetris, and Tetris 2.0.
