The PH 80 is a tribute that has become an icon. Designed to celebrate Poul Henningsen, the Danish master of lighting, it continues his lifelong quest: generous, glare-free light.
Poul Henningsen, the master of light
Born in Copenhagen to the famous actress Agnes Henningsen, Poul Henningsen studied at the Frederiksberg Technical School and then at the Technical University of Copenhagen, though he never graduated as an architect. After his beginnings in functionalist architecture, he dedicated himself almost exclusively to lighting–the field that would make his name and give birth to the famous "PH series." His best-known lamp, the PH 5, is based on exactly the same principle as the PH 80.

A lamp born as a tribute
The PH 80 was created in 1974, after Henningsen’s death (1967), in honor of what would have been his 80th birthday–hence its name. Faithful to the PH series, it features several stacked shades that conceal the bulb and direct the light downward: you get clarity without ever seeing the source, for total visual comfort.

Three forms for three uses
- The PH 80 table lamp adorns a desk, console, or side table.
- The PH 80 Portable, cordless and rechargeable, moves freely from the dinner table to the terrace.
- The PH 80 floor lamp diffuses that same soft light at room height, perfect next to an armchair.

How to choose?
For a workspace or a dedicated reading nook, the table lamp is the obvious choice; for accent lighting that you can take anywhere, choose the portable version; to dress up a corner of the living room, the floor lamp. All share the signature multi-shade design that makes Poul Henningsen's lighting so gentle.
