The 42-inch round "Tulip" dining table created by Eero Saarinen in collaboration with Knoll seats four people. With its round, convivial shape and highly considered design, it is resolutely modern and stylish. Eero Saarinen designed this table to offer cleanliness, comfort, and aesthetics: he vowed to address the "ugly, confusing, unrestful world" he observed beneath chairs and tables—the so-called "slum of legs." After five years of design study, he created the revolutionary Pedestal collection, launched in 1958 to eliminate the clutter of table and chair legs.
The tabletop is made of white marble with gray veining. A satin protective coating ensures the tabletop's durability while maintaining a natural appearance.
