The name actually comes from mathematics: a spline is a function that draws a smooth curve between fixed points. A colored textile strip runs along a 4.50-meter luminous line sheathed in translucent silicone, which diffuses light without any hot spots. Its 2.50-meter cord ties to the ceiling as if around a branch, and the LED strip can be removed or replaced: you adjust the curve, change the length, and keep the structure.

David Derksen
David Derksen est diplômé de la Design Academy Eindhoven en 2009 et de la faculté de design industriel de Delft en 2011. Son atelier, installé à Rotterdam, alterne projets industriels et pièces expérimentales, et participe chaque année au Salone del Mobile depuis 2011. Nommé aux Dutch Design Awards en 2015, il enseigne au master Industrial Design de la Royal Academy of Art de La Haye.
