Dating back centuries, paper lanterns have been used throughout Asia among both the privileged and the poor, where different colours, shapes and sizes connote different meanings. Here, Hayon has dispensed with cultural formalities to create a series of all-white lamps. Handcrafted from rice paper, they merge different sizes and shapes. The series consists of three different lantern versions and a table lamp in ivory white rice paper with black stained-oak accents.

Jaime Hayon
Né à Madrid en 1974, Jaime Hayon dirige le département design de Fabrica avant d'ouvrir son studio en 2000, entre mobilier, luminaire, objet et intérieur. La boutique propose ses pièces éditées par &Tradition, dont les suspensions Formakami, la lampe Montera et le bureau Palette.

&Tradition
&Tradition est un éditeur danois fondé à Copenhague en 2010 par Martin Kornbek Hansen. Son catalogue suit deux lignes : la réédition de classiques du design danois et des créations contemporaines. Côté patrimoine, la maison édite la suspension Flowerpot dessinée par Verner Panton en 1968, le fauteuil Little Petra conçu par Viggo Boesen dans les années 1930, ainsi que des pièces d'Arne Jacobsen et de Jørn Utzon. Côté création, elle travaille notamment avec Space Copenhagen, auteur du canapé Fly, Jaime Hayon et Luca Nichetto.
