Rocking chair Parchment by Charles & Ray Eames - Vintage

The Rocking Chair, also known as the RAR Armchair (for Rocking Armchair Rod base), was created by the Eameses in 1948 using polyester resin reinforced with fiberglass to create a single-piece shell.
This rocking chair was presented for the first time in 1950 during the MoMA’s “Low Cost Furniture Design” competition in New York. It was a great success and was originally produced by the Herman Miller company until the late 70s.
Alongside the Herman Miller production based in the United States, Vitra has produced polypropylene models in Europe since 1972.
The chair also exists in a version with legs. There are two different bases: the DAR model (chrome-plated aluminum base) and the DAW model (wooden legs).
