Decontextualize: that is Piero Gilardi's mantra. Recreating the bucolic atmosphere of a mountain stream or ocean cliffs within the domestic space – that was his goal: to strip away the weight of an object, while letting its image—or rather, its artificial reproduction—retain the poetry and evocative simplicity through which these objects come to life for the user.

And thus the Sassi series was born. Sedilsasso, the largest rock—intended for use as a chair—comes with two other smaller pebbles, which together recreate a natural, contemplative set.

Le designer

Piero Gilardi
