Among the most normative Danish designs of the 1960s, Verner Panton's iconic Flowerpot shape is available in a series that now numbers seven different models. Working closely with the Panton family, we are pleased to welcome five vibrant and exciting new colors to our range for 2023: Cobalt Blue, Swim Blue, Vermilion Red, Tangy Pink and Dark Plum. Alongside this scintillating color expansion, we're also delighted to welcome a reissue of a Panton original, a 70s-inspired black and white wave-patterned design.

The Flowerpot lamp became emblematic of the Flower Power peace movement in the 1960s. With its range of bright colors, it is just as synonymous with modernity today as it was when it was launched in 1968. "Usage provocative use of materials, Panton's geometric shapes and psychedelic colors set him apart from his contemporaries," notes Martin Kornbek Hansen. “Our &Tradition product portfolio would not be complete without this endearing example from this radical design evangelist.”

Verner Panton aspired to become a painter before studying architecture at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen. After an apprenticeship with architect/designer Arne Jacobsen, Panton moved into furniture and interior design. It was during this period of his career that he became famous for his avant-garde work, pushing the boundaries of design with innovative materials, bold colors and unconventional shapes that transformed contemporary interiors . In the 1960s and 1970s, his passion for designing entire environments resulted in immersive interiors featuring his hypnotic patterns and futuristic designs for furniture, lighting, wallpapers, posters and rugs. Panton's pioneering use of materials, colors and shapes earned him a reputation as a visionary.
