The name 'Shadow' evokes both absence and presence: the physical absence of a body and the presence of its memory, its imprint. The armchair is a unique volume whose padding, covered in malleable materials, is intentionally unstable, fluid, and magmatic. It thickens, yet never truly settles.
The crafting of the Shadow armchair—the craftsmanship, from the cutting of the upholstery fabric to the finishes and details, carried out primarily by hand by the artisans at Meritalia—is only complete when the chair meets a body. The warmth and weight of the latter shape its final volume. Shadow is a memory armchair, capable of preserving the trace of its use: the imprint of a body, which becomes a statement of identity.

Architecte et designer né à La Spezia en 1939, Gaetano Pesce a défendu jusqu'à sa mort à New York en 2024 l'idée d'une série où chaque exemplaire diffère des autres. La boutique propose ses objets en résine coulée de Fish Design, ses canapés Meritalia et plusieurs pièces éditées par Cassina.
