Palissade Cord takes the powder-coated steel frame of the collection and replaces the steel slats with recycled polyester cord, hand-woven onto the frame in a tone matching the frame's color. The change is not just decorative: the cord deforms slightly under weight and conforms to the body, whereas a slat remains flat, making the seat flexible without the need for a cushion. The weave allows water and air to pass through just like the slatted design, so the seat dries just as quickly. On a lounge chair, where one sits for a long time and the back rests against the backrest, this flexibility is felt more than on a dining chair. It retains the dimensions of the original Palissade low lounge chair—73 cm wide, 81 cm deep, with a seat height of 38 cm—and therefore forms a cohesive lounge set with it.
