Pack Chair 10 by Jasper Morrison

“Designed for HAY by Jasper Morrison, Pack Chair 10 is a contemporary reinterpretation of the wooden trattoria chair. Its moulded plastic seat and backrest translate a familiar silhouette into an industrial context, while solid oak legs and an optional plywood backrest introduce a natural counterpoint to the form. The seat and backrest are made from 80% post-consumer recycled polypropylene blended with wood fibres, which reinforce the material and lend the surface a subtle, natural tactility. Delivered flat-packed, the chair's considered construction ensures easy and intuitive assembly.”: HAY, on the Pack Chair 10.

The recycled polypropylene shell

The moulded seat and backrest are composed of 80% post-consumer recycled polypropylene blended with wood fibres: HAY notes that this mixture “reinforces the material and lends the surface a subtle, natural tactility”. The base is made of solid oak, either oiled or finished with a water-based black lacquer. Delivered flat-packed, assembly requires no special tools.

Base and colours

Two base finishes, oiled oak or black lacquered oak, and five shell colours for the oiled oak version (the black lacquered oak is only offered in graphite brown). Each combination has its own visual in the gallery above.
