The LCM (Lounge Chair Metal base) chair is the result of early experiments conducted by Charles and Ray Eames starting in 1945 on molding plywood in a way that could best adapt to the contours of the human body.
The Eameses studied the structure of the human skeleton in order to perfect their molding process.
Modeled and tested hundreds of times, the final chair consists of two parts: the petal-shaped backrest and seat.
It is manufactured by Herman Miller in the United States and under license by Vitra in Europe.
Thanks to the organic lines of the shells and the slightly flexible backrests, these lightweight and compact chairs are extremely comfortable.
