Scozia leather is a full-grain leather; it features an anti-slip back to keep the seat pad in place on the steel shell. Available in two colors: Black and Cognac.
Designed in 1977 by Niels Jørgen Haugesen, the X-Line has remained an understated classic of Danish design, produced for decades by the manufacturer Magnus Olesen. HAY acquired the distribution and production rights and is relaunching the chair in collaboration with the Haugesen family: new colors and new base finishes, while maintaining the original design. "Originally designed by Niels Jørgen Haugesen in the late '70s, the X-Line Chair has joined HAY's universe of timeless, original designs," writes HAY. The construction remains faithful to the model's spirit: a high-precision steel wire, bent into an X-shape, which makes the chair simultaneously sturdy, lightweight, and stackable, while reducing the amount of material to the bare essentials.

Designer danois formé à la Danish School of Arts, Crafts and Design, Niels Jørgen Haugesen débute chez Arne Jacobsen et dessine en 1977 la chaise X-Line, en fil d'acier et structure en X apparente. HAY la réédite aujourd'hui, et la boutique la propose en piètements galvanisé, chromé ou laqué, avec galettes et assises en cuir.

HAY est un éditeur de design danois fondé à Copenhague en 2002 par Rolf et Mette Hay. Les deux fondateurs en assurent toujours la direction artistique, Rolf pour le mobilier, Mette pour les accessoires. La maison travaille avec des designers contemporains comme Ronan et Erwan Bouroullec, auteurs de la collection d'extérieur Palissade, Stefan Diez, Hee Welling, créateur de la série About A Chair, ou Louise Campbell, dont la Prince Chair de 2002 est entrée au MoMA. Depuis 2019, l'américain Herman Miller, aujourd'hui MillerKnoll, en est l'actionnaire majoritaire.
