The shade is made of pleated cotton laminated to a PVC sheet: this is the exact description provided by HAY: cotton fabric laminated to a PVC sheet. The pleating is therefore more than just decorative: it stiffens the shade and diffuses the light by breaking it into vertical facets. The fabric is dyed in a range of bold colors that are the hallmark of the series.

Inga Sempé
Diplômée de l'ENSCI - Les Ateliers en 1993, la designer française Inga Sempé ouvre son studio à Paris en 2001 et reçoit l'année suivante le Grand Prix du Design de la Ville de Paris. La boutique propose sa collection de luminaires Matin et la lampe Mousqueton chez HAY, ainsi que les étagères Balcon et Bénitier de Moustache.

Hay
HAY est un éditeur de design danois fondé à Copenhague en 2002 par Rolf et Mette Hay. Les deux fondateurs en assurent toujours la direction artistique, Rolf pour le mobilier, Mette pour les accessoires. La maison travaille avec des designers contemporains comme Ronan et Erwan Bouroullec, auteurs de la collection d'extérieur Palissade, Stefan Diez, Hee Welling, créateur de la série About A Chair, ou Louise Campbell, dont la Prince Chair de 2002 est entrée au MoMA. Depuis 2019, l'américain Herman Miller, aujourd'hui MillerKnoll, en est l'actionnaire majoritaire.
