Le designer

Bruno Munari

Bruno Munari (1907-1998), né et mort à Milan, est à la fois artiste, designer, graphiste et pédagogue. Il rejoint à la fin des années 1920 le second futurisme de Marinetti, invente ses « machines inutiles », puis cofonde en 1948 le Movimento Arte Concreta avec Gillo Dorfles, Gianni Monnet et Atanasio Soldati. Dans les années 1940 et 1950, il dessine luminaires, cendriers, téléviseurs et jouets, et reçoit trois Compasso d'Oro, en 1954, 1955 et 1979. Auteur de nombreux livres pour enfants aux pages tactiles et découpées, il publie en 1966 Design as Art et poursuit toute sa vie ses livres illisibles. Danese Milano édite plusieurs de ses objets, dont le cendrier Cubo, et ses sérigraphies Écriture illisible d'un peuple inconnu.

Fondée à Milan en 1957 par Bruno Danese et Jacqueline Vodoz, Danese Milano veut réunir art et design dans un projet à la fois culturel et industriel. Bruno Munari, Enzo Mari et Angelo Mangiarotti y signent des classiques, du calendrier Formosa au porte-crayons Lampedusa.
