About A Chair seat cushion by Hee Welling

HAY has developed a collection of seat cushions for the About A Chair and About A Stool series, with one format per series. This is the chair format, and it is available in two sizes.

Two formats: which one to choose

This is the only point that requires attention before ordering.

• For chairs with armrests: 41.9 x 40.5 cm. Narrower, to fit between the armrests.
• For chairs without armrests: 47 x 39 cm. Wider, slightly less deep.

The rule is simple: if your chair has armrests, choose the narrow format; otherwise, the wide format. Both have an anti-slip back: they stay on the shell without fasteners or velcro. If you have any doubt about your model, email us with its reference and we will check for you.

The five coverings, and what they actually are

Valencia is a Spradling vinyl: a faux leather, not real leather: a uniform, waterproof surface, it is the easiest to live with and the only one to offer seven colors. Remix is a heathered Kvadrat wool (92% wool, 8% nylon). Mode is a Maharam recycled polyester fabric, solid and dense. Atlas is a worsted Kvadrat wool (90% wool, 10% nylon). Scozia is the only real leather in the selection: hence its price, significantly higher than the other four.
