The 100 shares the seating contours of the entire family, but is lower and wider: it is the lounge chair of the series, designed for relaxing or sitting for long periods rather than for dining. Seat height 40 cm, total height 69 cm, 57 cm wide and 64 cm deep. Steel base.
Oak veneer, and why it is curved
The shell is made of oak veneer sheets glued and pressed into a mold: this is known as molded plywood. The process allows for a thin, and therefore lightweight, wall that takes on a continuous curve without edges or joints. This is what gives the series its name: the seat edge softens instead of cutting into the thigh.
The lacquer is water-based. Natural oak leaves the grain visible; opaque colors cover it more, while still keeping the grain in relief.
Some finishes have the seat upholstered in a specific HAY fabric, indicated in the variant name. These are configurations held in stock: the fabric cannot be chosen on this product page. If you would like a different fabric reference, write to us: HAY produces the series in a wide range of colors, on request.
Stackable
HAY designates this chair as stackable: it can be stored in a stack when the room needs to be used for something else. This makes it common in meeting rooms and public spaces.
