Artist: Superstudio

Spera is a small mirror and photo frame by Superstudio.
Initially, in 1968, the idea was to use marble processing scraps: "a DIY operation, rather than a creative one," as the Florentine group Superstudio, ahead of its time, declared back then.
The meticulous milling of the irregular marble pieces makes it a precious support for a mirror and two sheets of methacrylate to be used as a photo frame.
The Spera mirror, like the Ofelia (photo frame) and Vanitas (mirror) series, represents a transformation project capable of giving a new, refined aesthetic to fragments of industrial production waste.

Superstudio

Le designer

Superstudio
