Original Memphis model designed in 1981 (Memphis Milano collection 1981-1988) - Each copy bears the ''Memphis'' seal and is accompanied by a paper certificate of authenticity also bearing the seal. The Oceanic lamp, designed by Michele De Lucchi in 1981, quickly became one of the great icons of the Memphis movement.

Designed in 1981 by Michele De Lucchi, the Oceanic lamp with its stylized sea monster silhouette and its explosive cocktail of colors and patterns has become one of the great icons of the Memphis group. They consist of a rectangular base in pink lacquered metal from which 3 black and white striped cylinders rise. The largest is topped with a yellow rectangular diffuser, the middle one with a switch and the third with a cable outlet.

Michele De Lucchi, born in 1951 in Ferrara and graduated in architecture in Florence, is a major player in movements such as Cavart, Alchymia and Memphis.

He has designed lamps and furniture for the most renowned Italian and European companies. In charge of design at Olivetti from 1988 to 2002, he developed experimental projects and conceived a number of personal theories on workspace development. He has also designed and renovated buildings for various companies such as Deutsche Bank, Novartis and Enel.
He has also cooperated with museums such as the Milan Triennale and the Neues Museum in Berlin.
In 1990 he created Produzione Privata, a small company where he designs products using artisanal methods and techniques.
He has won several international awards and has been appointed full professor at the Faculty of Design of the Polytechnic of Milan and member of the National Academy of San Luca in Rome since 2008.
