The Toldbod pendant light from Louis Poulsen continues the innovative design legacy of Poul Henningsen. Based on the PH elliptical reflector, this lamp represents one of Henningsen's final works in street lighting. Initially intended for a suburban area north of Copenhagen, it was only tested on a small scale. This historic luminaire, originally designed for a 100 W incandescent source, has evolved over time, incorporating modern materials and advanced light-surface treatments. Available in white, with dimensions of Ø 155 mm and Ø 220 mm, the Toldbod pendant offers a minimalist and versatile aesthetic, capable of harmonizing with various architectural environments.

The Design

Poul Henningsen, famous for his revolutionary contributions to lighting design, created luminaires that combine functionality and aesthetics. His philosophy was to create lighting that illuminates effectively without glare, an approach that remains central to Louis Poulsen's designs.
