Le designer

Ferruccio Laviani

Né en 1960 · Italien

Né à Crémone en 1960, formé à Milan auprès d'Achille Castiglioni et de Marco Zanuso, Ferruccio Laviani est architecte et designer, directeur artistique de Kartell depuis 1991. La boutique propose ses luminaires et tables Kartell, dont les lampes Toobe, Battery, Kabuki et Take.

La maison

Kartell

Kartell est fondée en 1949 par Giulio Castelli et fabrique d'abord des accessoires automobiles. La maison fait entrer le plastique dans l'intérieur domestique et rend les objets du quotidien pratiques et colorés, notamment grâce au travail de l'architecte et designer Anna Castelli Ferrieri. En 1988, Claudio Luti, gendre du fondateur, reprend l'entreprise et fait appel à Philippe Starck, auteur de la chaise Louis Ghost, Ron Arad, Antonio Citterio, Patricia Urquiola ou Mario Bellini. Kartell indique avoir été, en 1999, la première entreprise au monde à produire du mobilier en polycarbonate. Son siège est à Noviglio, près de Milan.
