Its silhouette consists of a few wooden planes assembled in a zigzag: a backrest, a seat, and a base that extend without legs or crossbars, in a balance that seems to defy gravity.
It is made of lacquered wood and comes in black, red, brown, yellow, white, and blue, as well as natural wood. Compact, it measures 37 cm wide, 43 cm deep, and 74 cm high: a piece of design history that is just as suitable around a table as it is as an occasional chair.

Né à Utrecht en 1888, ébéniste devenu architecte, Gerrit Rietveld a donné au mouvement De Stijl ses meubles les plus radicaux, du fauteuil Red and Blue à la chaise Zig Zag de 1934. La boutique propose ces rééditions Cassina, ainsi que la collection Crate rééditée par Rietveld Originals x HAY.

Cassina
Cassina est fondée en 1927 à Meda par les frères Cesare et Umberto Cassina. À partir de 1948, la maison sépare conception et fabrication et travaille avec des architectes extérieurs, à commencer par Gio Ponti, dont la chaise 699 Superleggera, produite dès 1957, ne pèse que 1,7 kg. En 1965, elle commence à éditer les meubles dessinés dans les années 1920 par Le Corbusier, Pierre Jeanneret et Charlotte Perriand. La collection Cassina I Maestri, lancée en 1973, réunit ces archétypes du XXe siècle et des œuvres de Gerrit T. Rietveld et de Charles Rennie Mackintosh.
