Né à Utrecht en 1888, ébéniste devenu architecte, Gerrit Rietveld a donné au mouvement De Stijl ses meubles les plus radicaux, du fauteuil Red and Blue à la chaise Zig Zag de 1934. La boutique propose ces rééditions Cassina, ainsi que la collection Crate rééditée par Rietveld Originals x HAY.
La maison
Cassina
Cassina est fondée en 1927 à Meda par les frères Cesare et Umberto Cassina. À partir de 1948, la maison sépare conception et fabrication et travaille avec des architectes extérieurs, à commencer par Gio Ponti, dont la chaise 699 Superleggera, produite dès 1957, ne pèse que 1,7 kg. En 1965, elle commence à éditer les meubles dessinés dans les années 1920 par Le Corbusier, Pierre Jeanneret et Charlotte Perriand. La collection Cassina I Maestri, lancée en 1973, réunit ces archétypes du XXe siècle et des œuvres de Gerrit T. Rietveld et de Charles Rennie Mackintosh.
