Marcantonio Monkey Lamp Hanging Right Outdoor

The Monkey Lamp is a hand-painted resin sculpture holding a light socket at the end of its arm. Marcantonio designed the monkey in several poses—standing, sitting, hanging by one hand, clinging to a rope, sitting on a swing—so that the same piece becomes a table lamp, wall lamp, or pendant light depending on the version chosen. The lampshade is a small metal and polyester cone mounted on the socket: it directs the light toward the floor and leaves the monkey's silhouette in the shadows.

The collection comes in two families that are indistinguishable at first glance: the white indoor versions and the outdoor versions, whose resin and low-voltage wiring are treated for rain. The title of each product page indicates this, and the "Usage" line below reflects what the brand publishes: or notes if it does not publish it.

Why the monkey

Since his debut, Marcantonio has worked with the theme of the repurposed animal: the mouse stealing a lightbulb, the bird perching on a wire, the monkey holding the light. The gesture is always the same—entrusting an object's function to an animal—and this is what gives the range its coherence: the pieces complement each other throughout the house without being identical.
