Released in 2025, this version replaces the four legs with a black steel sled base. The benefit is tangible: the chair glides across carpeting instead of catching on it, and it remains stackable up to eight high. The wood is FSC-certified and the lacquers are water-based. Three versions are available here: bare shell, upholstered seat, or upholstered seat and backrest. The specific upholstery color is selected on our Fabrics and Materials page and confirmed before production.
Furniture designed for a specific space
Pavilion was not born from an abstract design brief. &Tradition commissioned Anderssen & Voll to refurnish Copenhagen's Langelinie Pavillonen, a 1958 building designed by Eva and Niels Koppel that hosts banquets and seminars. Hence the constraints that shaped the series: stackable, light enough to move, durable enough for intensive collective use, and discreet enough not to compete with the architecture. The result consists of two materials, bent steel tubing and press-molded veneer, assembled with visible hardware.
Three levels of upholstery, one single product page
The references are distinguished solely by their upholstery: AV51 bare shell (seat and backrest in lacquered veneer), AV52 upholstered seat and wooden backrest, AV53 upholstered seat and backrest. Fully upholstered versions are not available in leather. Plastic glides are fitted as standard; felt glides and brass hardware are available upon request at no extra charge.
