Slit Side Table High Ø 35 cm

Inspired by traditional origami techniques, the "Slit" side table by HAY combines a sculptural aesthetic with contemporary geometric lines. This wooden table features a simple yet impactful form, playing with the perception of volumes and offering an intriguing play on perspective. The versatility of the Slit collection allows for multiple configurations, making this table ideal for use alone or in a cluster, in both private and public spaces.

The design

HAY does not credit any designer for the Slit series: the brand signs it with its own name. The design relies on the structure itself: a slender frame that appears folded beneath the tabletop, in the manner of paper folding.

The Slit series is not attributed to any outside designer: HAY does not name any author on its Slit page, and the series does not appear on any of its designers' portfolios. The company works with independent designers on a large part of its catalog and signs the rest with its own name, generally for pieces where function dictates form. This is the case here: a tabletop and a slender frame that appears folded underneath, inspired by paper-folding techniques.
