Tonietta 2090 chair by Enzo Mari

Tonietta is a chair designed by Enzo Mari in 1985. The structure is a die-cast aluminum alloy, polished or black painted: four slim legs that meet under the seat, without crossbars, and a backrest that extends the rear legs in a single line. The seat and backrest are two polypropylene shells covered in saddle leather, a thick and rigid leather that stretches over the shell rather than padding it: hence the slimness of the profile. It measures 39 cm wide, 48 cm deep, 82 cm high, with a seat height of 46.5 cm, and weighs 6 kg. A museum chair

Tonietta received the Compasso d'Oro in 1987 and the first prize at the International Design Center's Chair Fair in New York in 1986. It is featured in the collections of the MoMA in New York, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, the Fondazione Triennale Design Museum in Milan, the Thessaloniki Design Museum, and the ADI Design Museum.
