Fully modular, the String shelving system offers total freedom to customize the look, dimensions, and functions of your bookcase.
The STRING system consists of two metal side panels (beige, white, grey, black, or metal) onto which you simply insert wooden shelves (beige, white, grey, black stained ash, ash, oak, or walnut).
All elements (side panels, shelves, cabinets, etc.) are sold separately and are extremely easy to assemble.
You choose the number of side panels, the number and length of the shelves, and you can add cabinets…
No tools are required for assembly, and the various items are flat-packed in lightweight packaging that can be transported by car.
The shelves and cabinets can be arranged freely within the side panels.
You have a choice of several types of shelves: simple shelf (W 58 cm or W 78 cm), magazine shelf (W 78 cm), or shelf with 3 integrated organizers (W 78 cm). You can also choose a cabinet with sliding doors or drawers.
The shelves and cabinets slot easily into the side panels without tools. They can be placed freely at your desired height.
They are very easy to assemble and disassemble: you can move them in the blink of an eye. The steel side panels are wall-mounted at 2 points: top and bottom; screws are provided.
To create your String composition, you simply need to purchase at least 2 side panels. If you wish to expand your bookcase, you can add a third panel or more.
The String system is on display at our shop at 17 rue André Del Sarte, Paris 18th.

Anna von Schewen & Björn Dahlström
Anna von Schewen, architecte, et Björn Dahlström, designer industriel autodidacte né en 1957 et auteur du fauteuil BD 1, forment un duo suédois qui travaille avec String depuis 2011. La boutique propose leurs éléments pour String Furniture, de la gamme de bureau String Works à la table pliante et aux étagères à bacs.

Né en 1949 d'un concours de l'éditeur suédois Bonniers Folkbibliotek, remporté par les architectes Nisse et Kajsa Strinning, le système String repose sur trois éléments simples. Entré au Nationalmuseum en 1979, il se compose librement, du salon au bureau.
