The design

HAY does not attribute the Slit series to any designer: the brand signs it with its own name. The design lies in the structure itself: a thin frame that appears to be folded under the tabletop, similar to paper folding.

The Slit series is not attributed to any outside designer: HAY does not name an author on its Slit page, and the series does not appear on the profile of any of its designers. The company works with independent designers on a large part of its catalogue and signs the rest with its own name, generally pieces where function dictates form. This is the case here: a tabletop, and a thin frame that appears to be folded underneath, inspired by paper-folding techniques.
