Uto Balmoral is a character created in a provocative way to be itself a product, a project of the designer.
The idea comes from a personal reflection on the concept of “designer as a brand”. Awareness of this phenomenon gave birth, with declared irony, to the new character Uto.
Uto traces his own image from the denial of himself in a game of particular balances between the desire/need to appear and to hide.
The common thread of Uto's work is the simple necessity to communicate, to provoke, to generate something in the public, to force a smile, to provoke a reflection, to trigger a reaction, to launch a process capable of going beyond meaning. aesthetics and functionality.

A family business, the Seletti company was founded in 1964 by Romano Seletti. First intended to import everyday products such as tin cups or plastic tablecloths to local Italian markets, Seletti is today a company producing design objects popular with concept stores around the world.
It was son Stefano, working from 1987 at the age of 17, who brought a new vision to the brand and allowed it to develop as a manufacturer. Having entered into several partnerships with artists such as Maurizio Cattelan, Stefano Seletti wishes to make, with Seletti, design accessible to all.
