Le designer

Arne Jacobsen

Arne Jacobsen (1902-1971), architecte et designer danois diplômé de l'Académie royale des beaux-arts de Copenhague, est une figure majeure du fonctionnalisme scandinave. Adepte du « gesamtkunstwerk », il dessinait aussi bien les bâtiments que leur mobilier et leurs luminaires. On lui doit les chaises Egg, Swan et Fourmi, ainsi que la série de lampes AJ créée en 1957 pour le SAS Royal Hotel de Copenhague, inauguré en 1960.

La maison

&Tradition

&Tradition est un éditeur danois fondé à Copenhague en 2010 par Martin Kornbek Hansen. Son catalogue suit deux lignes : la réédition de classiques du design danois et des créations contemporaines. Côté patrimoine, la maison édite la suspension Flowerpot dessinée par Verner Panton en 1968, le fauteuil Little Petra conçu par Viggo Boesen dans les années 1930, ainsi que des pièces d'Arne Jacobsen et de Jørn Utzon. Côté création, elle travaille notamment avec Space Copenhagen, auteur du canapé Fly, Jaime Hayon et Luca Nichetto.
